The practice

Fifteen years of being in the room.

A small firm by choice, on both sides of one of the most rewarding and least understood routes in European business.

Origin

Why the corridor.

Exteria began in 2011 with two people, one office in Cádiz and a stubborn conviction: that a market report has never once opened a market.

What opens a market is somebody who already knows the regulator, the distributor and the bank, and who will pick up the phone on your behalf. Everything the firm does now is downstream of that one idea — the small senior teams, the refusal to subcontract, the insistence on being physically present at the meetings that decide things.

Distance between markets is never really geographic. It is regulatory, cultural and commercial — and it is crossed by people.

We chose Spain and India because the two are unusually complementary and unusually badly matched in practice. Spanish industrial capability meets Indian scale beautifully on paper, and then loses eighteen months to certification, to a distributor who was never qualified properly, or to a contract drafted for the wrong jurisdiction.

Fifteen years later we work in both directions and well beyond both countries, but the method has not changed: a written plan, a fixed fee, the same faces throughout, and a handover that leaves you able to run the thing without us.

What we hold to

Four commitments we will not trade away.

Local knowledge, applied

Not a market study. The person who already knows the regulator, the distributor and the bank — and who stays in the conversation after the introduction.

One team, both sides

The same partners run the Spanish end and the Indian end, so nothing is lost in a hand-off between two firms who have never met each other.

Fixed scope, honest dates

What we will do, what it costs and when it lands — agreed before anything is filed. If a date is going to move you hear it from us first.

Built to be handed over

Every entity, licence, account and relationship ends in your name. Our measure of success is the month you stop needing us.
